"The Teacher" is the 10th episode of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball.[1]
Synopsis
Gumball wants to take down Miss Simian after she punishes him for not respecting his school-provided calculator.

At Elmore Junior High, Miss Simian has her math class take a pop quiz. Due to budget cuts from the school, the students have to take the quiz on toilet paper and can't use all the letters of the alphabet. Gumball complains that it's difficult since the school sold their calculators, comparing them to Richwood High, which has laptops. so Simian tells him to rely more on his brain. When he instead takes out his phone to use the calculator on it, Miss Simian angrily confiscates it and places it in her bag.
As the class ends, Miss Simian dismisses the students and heads out of the room. Gumball pursues her to get his phone back and catches her taking what appears to be a spiked club out of the school's trophy display case. Believing she's stealing from the school and his phone, he confronts her near the exit of the parking lot in her car, but the barrier gate knocks him unconscious.
When Gumball comes to, he finds himself in the passenger seat in Miss Simian's car. She questions what he was trying to do. Intimidated, Gumball lies that he looks up to her and wants to become a teacher when he grows up. Miss Simian laughs it off and tells him since she doesn't have time to drive back, he's stuck with her while she deals with some errands but it should give him an idea of what being a teacher is like.
Before she can explain, she suddenly goes ballistic as they come across Sal Left Thumb on the road. She corners him near a dumpster and beats him up while interrogating him. Gumball nervously grabs his phone and contacts the Elmore Police to report Miss Simian. As Sal gets the upper hand on Miss Simian and beats her with her car's headlight, Donut Cop tells Gumball they'll track his phone to come and help him. Spotting Gumball calling the police, Sal throws a spoon through the windshield that barely misses him, causing him to pass out from shock.
Gumball awakens to find he's still in Miss Simian's passenger seat and that Sal is now in the back seat tied up. Sal tells Miss Simian that whoever stole what she's looking for was a big guy with a track suit, rough voice, and built like a fridge. After reprimanding Sal, Miss Simian goes back to enthusiastically teaching Gumball what a teacher's job is. They arrive at a pawn shop, where Miss Simian plans to question Larry if they sold her stuff. She takes out the club she took from the case to "sweeten the deal" and asks Gumball to keep Sal comfortable. As they hear what appear to be screams, Gumball attempts to take care of Sal by offering him a mint or a foot massage, but he bluntly refuses and kicks him back.
Miss Simian returns to the car disappointed after finding out the pawn shop didn't have her stuff and threatens to use "less humane" methods on Sal. She turns on the radio to play a children's song, causing Sal to foam at the mouth. As they go back on the highway, Sal spots the thief's car and points it out to Miss Simian. The thief is revealed to be Coach Russo, who bumps into their car and sends it spinning. Miss Simian puts her car in reverse and catches up to Coach. With the stolen item apparently belonging to the school, Russo claims she's trying to make ends meet and bumps her again.
Miss Simian instructs Sal to grab her bag. After Gumball unties him, he refuses and jumps out of the car to land in a dumpster off the highway. She then tells Gumball to grab the bag and sends him into Russo's car. Gumball ends up in Russo's driver seat and grapples with her over the bag. They end up careening the car towards a truck with a ramp. As the car takes off at the ramp, Gumball is sent out of it and lands back on Miss Simian's car while Russo's lands next to Frankie. Smugly laughing after retrieving the bag, Miss Simian asks Gumball if he's ready to go all the way. Though terrified, Gumball externally monologues that the police will bring her down and agrees to go with her.
Despite his confident demeanor, Gumball nervously sweats as Miss Simian takes them through the desert and they arrive at a mysterious cave. Seeing that the target stopped moving, Donut Cop instructs the other officers to track them down. As they get deeper into the dark cave and Miss Simian wields the club she used at the pawn shop owner earlier, Gumball snaps and grabs a nearby twig to fight her back. Miss Simian then turns on a nearby lamp post, revealing that the cave is actually her home. She tells Gumball that she didn't bring him there to kill him and that the club is actually a primaeval flute she won in 10th grade for inventing fire and tried selling it at the pawn shop. The screams heard earlier were instead just how the flute sounds when she played it.
Miss Simian explains to Gumball that teachers have to hustle due to the school's budget shrinking every year. She sold the calculators to buy charging cables from Sal, but Russo stole them because her class needed skipping ropes. The reason she needed the charger cables is because she has new laptops ready for the class, which she purchased with her own money. Gumball bursts into tears and hugs her after learning what she has to give up to help her class. He then questions what the school's money goes towards. A montage is then shown of various high tech vehicles and robot dogs the police are using as they track Gumball's phone.
Gumball then panics upon realizing the police are coming for them and runs back to the car, but finds his phone isn't there. Miss Simian calmly reminds him that not only did she teach most of the police force, she also taught Sal, who stole his phone. At Sal's hideout, he looks through Gumball's phone and finds that the police are calling him. When he attempts to answer, the police shoot up his apartment and ambush him by throwing robot dogs in there.
Gumball and Miss Simian watch Sal's hideout explode from a distance. Miss Simian lambasts the police wasting the school's money before telling Gumball he would make a good teacher. She warns him that he'll get no respect, support, money, life, or love. Before she can tell him the job is beautiful with how much he shapes the future, she finds that he's already running off, having already been dissuaded from following in her footsteps.

- This episode was premiered in full at the show's official panel at San Diego Comic Con on July 26th, 2025.[2][3]
- It is revealed by Miss Simian in this episode that Sal's name is actually short for Salvatore. This is also the first episode to officially use the name "Sal" at all, as it was originally a fan name based on a misreading of his wanted poster.
- This episode reveals Miss Simian lives in the desert, making her one of the few characters to live outside Elmore.

- This is Miss Simian's eighth major role. The first seven were "The Ape," "The Apology," "The Joy," "The Lie," "The Grades," "The Singing," and "The Wish."
- Gumball saying the top of Miss Simian's head looks like Mount Fuji is a reference to "The Countdown."

- Gumball makes an expression resembling the Pogchamp emote from the website Twitch when he initially discovers Miss Simian's actions.
- The episode's premise is reminiscent of the crime drama Breaking Bad, as Miss Simian, similar to Walter White, is a teacher forced into the criminal underworld due to lacking money to help the children. The episode's climax also takes place in a desert, a common recurring setting in the show.
Goofs/errors
- During the car chase on the Elmore Expressway, the cars driving past Miss Simian and Coach Russo are empty.
- Miss Simian revealing to Gumball that she genuinely cares about her students' education contradicts "The Butterfly," in which she claims to only pretend to care about it.

- Lucy Simian: All right, all right. Settle down for your pop quiz now.
- [Lucy places toilet paper on the students’ desks.]
- Gumball: Uh, what is that?
- Lucy Simian: Budget cuts. We also can’t afford the full alphabet anymore. So try and avoid the letters G and T.
- [Gumball writes his name as Bumball Wawerson at the top of the toilet paper.]
- Gumball: Man, this school is ridiculous. How am I supposed to do math after you sold our calculators? Richwood High’s students got laptops, you know.
- Lucy Simian: [sigh] I’m well aware the school needs laptops, but we decided that the money would be better spent on toilet paper.
- [Lucy holds up a roll of toilet paper.]
- Lucy Simian: So I suggest you use your immaculate hands to count, Waterson.
- [Gumball counts on all his fingers.]
- Gumball: Well, I hope the answer is eight.
- [Lucy slams her hands on Gumball’s desk.]
- Lucy Simian: Well, how about your brain? I’m sure it would like to feel useful once in a while.
- [Screen zooms inside Gumball’s body. His brain starts talking.]
- Gumball's brain: Uh, just use your phone.
- [Screen zooms back out of Gumball’s body. He slowly pulls out his phone and opens the calculator. Lucy quickly snatches it out of his hands.]
- Lucy Simian: No! Waterson, do you want to grow up into a meaningless parasite that begs for free stuff because he has no skill or knowledge to offer society? Because this is how you become an influencer.
- [Gumball gasps and sulks.]
- Lucy Simian: Huh-uh.
- [Lucy places Gumball’s phone in her purse.]
- Gumball: [whispering] Ah, man.
- [Screen turns to clock ticking. The bell rings.]
- Lucy Simian: All right! See you all after lunch.
- [The students walk out of the classroom. Lucy grabs her purse and does the same.]
- Gumball: Wait, my phone!
- [Gumball grabs his backpack and runs after her.]
- Gumball: Wait, Miss Simian!
- [Gumball exits the classroom and looks around. He notices Lucy turning the hallway.]
- Gumball: Hey! Miss Simian!
- [Gumball continues chasing after her. The camera shifts to Lucy walking down the hallway, slightly looking around, clutching her purse. She then goes to the trophy case, opens it up, and grabs something out, Gumball watching her. Gumball’s expression changes.]
- Gumball: Ohhh! She’s stealing. This is why the school is even more broke than the vending machine.
- [Shift to Alan and Candy in front of the vending machine.]
- Candy: Hey, this machine swallowed my change and didn’t give me my— Oh!
- [Candy's hair starts to wiggle and she plays with it until the vending machine sucks her in. Alan makes a terrified expression. The screen shifts back to Gumball, who gasps.]
- Gumball: Wait. My phone. She stole my phone too!
- [Gumball marches outside to see Lucy leaving in her car. He jumps in front of it, and his mouth takes the shape of a megaphone.]
- Gumball: Hey!
- Lucy Simian: Out the way!
- Gumball: Wait a minute!
- [Toll barrier lifts and knocks Gumball out. Screen fade to Gumball waking up in Lucy’s car. Gumball gasps upon waking up. Lucy side-eyes Gumball in the passenger seat while driving.]
- Lucy Simian: What were you trying to do, Watterson?
- [Gumball points at Lucy accusingly]
- Gumball: I saw you…!
- [Gumball notices the spiked golden trophy in Lucy’s purse. His expression shifts into a fearful one. She quickly grabs it and zips it up and scowls at Gumball.]
- Gumball: I saw, uh, I saw everything you do for us, and it uh, it inspired me! I wanna be a teacher, you know, easy work hours, long vacations… heh.
- [Gumball sweats. Lucy laughs maniacally.]
- Lucy Simian: Well, I don’t have time to drive you back, so you’re stuck with me while I deal with a couple of things. But it should give you an idea of the reality of a teacher’s life. You see, in truth, what I do is take care of— [shouting] THAT TREACHEROUS PUUUNK!
- [Lucy swerves into the direction of Sal Left Thumb, hitting the breaks after Sal runs into a trash can. Lucy gets out of the car and charges into Sal.]
- Lucy Simian: Salvatore! Where is my stuff?!
- [Lucy slams him up against her car.]
- Sal Left Thumb: I don’t know! A guy stole it!
- Lucy Simian: What guy?!
- [Lucy grabs Sal by the neck and slams him against the car.]
- Sal Left Thumb: I don’t know his name!
- [Sal and Lucy start fighting. The camera shifts to Gumball, in the car and terrified, grabbing his phone and calling the police.]
- Donut Cop: [on phone] Elmore police?
- Gumball: [worried and rush] Uh, yeah. Police. I need immediate assistance. I got like, uh, 10-48 or whatever.
- Donut Cop: [on phone] You’ve got… worms?
- Gumball: What the… No, I’m held hostage by a dangerous individual and she’s already committed every crime in the book, you’re gonna have to come up with new ones!
- Donut Cop: [on phone] Roger that. Stay on the line. Can you describe the perp?
- [Screen shifts to Lucy and Sal fighting outside the car from Gumball’s perspective.]
- Gumball: Uh, female, long black beard, long dress… the top of her head kinda looks like Mount Fuji. Around five foot six…
- [Sal hits Lucy on the head with a metal object.]
- Gumball: Uh, I mean, five foot five.
- [Sal strikes Lucy again.]
