The Amazing World of Gumball 2018 Grab Bag Special is the fourth one-shot anthology issue of The Amazing World of Gumball comic books.
Synopsis
Elmore, beware, as Gumball, Darwin, and Anais tackle their greatest fears: riding a bike, monsters under the bed, and more! Featuring stories and art from talent such as Kelly Bastow (Capture Creatures), Julieta Colas (Rick and Morty), and more, this brand-new Grab Bag collects hilarious shorts from The Amazing World of Gumball.
Plot

The Bike
Gumball, Darwin, Anais, and Richard are all outside, when Richard tells Anais that she must still use training wheels. When asked why, Richard says it is unsafe to ride without training wheels and gives a very specific example, which makes the children believe that Richard has never learned how to ride a bike. Richard explains that Granny Jojo never taught him how to ride a bike because she was too busy. Since he was never taught, he kept crashing into things, while the neighborhood kids laughed at him. Upon hearing this, Anais offers to teach him how to ride a bike without training wheels.
Gumball and Darwin are now pushing Richard to get him to learn how to ride a bike. Anais tells them to let go without telling Richard, but Darwin thinks that is a bad idea. Regardless, the boys let go of the bike and Anais rides alongside her father. Richard is happy with his progress, but once he turns around, he notices that Gumball and Darwin are no longer pushing him. Richard feels betrayed and starts panicking, but Anais tries to calm him down. She tells him that she will keep them both safe, but fails to notice that they are heading towards a heap of trash. At this point, crashing is inevitable.
Later, Richard and Anais are sitting on the couch, wearing bandages. Richard apologizes for the crash, but thanks his daughter for teaching him how to ride a bike. Anais decides that she will steer clear of riding a bike for a few years, while Gumball stays positive – Richard and Anais will get a cool scar.
The Host
Gumball and Darwin are asleep in their room, but then something said hi to Gumball and freaked him out. Darwin wakes up and asked Gumball what was wrong, he replied that something was grazing his leg. Darwin, trying to figure out a solution, goes on the computer to show him how to get rid of the parasite. The computer told them to make it feel unwelcome.
After giving the information, Gumball and Darwin tried to do a ritual and made the parasite come out of the bed. Instead of attacking, the parasite starts packing their things and is disappointed about their stay. The parasite leaves with giving no stars to the Wattersons' residence. Richard heard the news and cries about it, which Anais is telling mom about them. At the end, the boys feel more scared without the monster, in fear with their mother.
The Hauntening
Gumball and Darwin were about to go to sleep, but then a creepy sound starts playing. Believed their house is haunted by ghosts, they summon Carrie to help them. Carrie however, is tired and doesn’t care about the “ghost” in the house and leaves. Gumball and Darwin have no choice but to hunt down the ghost themselves. They both go downstairs, but they both tripped down the stairs. They both tried everything to find and defeat the ghost, but failed.
All hope lost, they both decide to do a summoning circle in the living room. But after multiple tries, Gumball gave up and sat on the couch. Gumball and Darwin gives up, but the creepy sound plays again. The sound is revealed to be Richard's snores.
Science Fair Shenanigans
The science fair is coming up and Gumball and Darwin decide to be partners, but Gumball thought of something. He makes a plan that if they win the science fair, they will get a big scholarship to the top university. With the scholarship, they will acquire loads of knowledge from the college. After that, there will be a robot outbreak since technology is getting more advanced. Since it is happening, the knowledge they learned will help them make the strongest secret bunker.
The day of the science fair, Miss Simian goes to Gumball and Darwin for their project. The science project fails and Miss Simian gives them an F, which they failed. Suddenly, Principal Brown makes an announcement that Anais wins the science fair for her perfect calculation of Gumball and Darwin's rate of failures. Anais smirks which scares both Gumball and Darwin.
BFFs
Gumball knows that Darwin has been ignoring him all day because of the new kid. Gumball hatches a plan for Darwin to talk to him again, but then Darwin passes him because of the new kid, name Doug. Gumball gets mad at Darwin for the whole bus ride and then follows them to Doug's house. Gumball tells Darwin that he misses him and Doug offers him to join them. Gumball made Darwin a hat, but Doug takes it, leaving Gumball upset. After Darwin grabs some soda, Gumball is closer and wearing a hat for Darwin. Then it ends with all of them hanging out with each other.
The Trick
Gumball, with Penny, starts spying on Darwin and is suspicious on how can Darwin get everyone to like him. Penny tries to reason with him, but Gumball knows he is on to something. Gumball tells Penny he is also a nice person, suddenly Darwin interrupts both of them. Gumball gets mad at Darwin, which he ask him how does he manipulate people so easily. Gumball tries to find a reason why, but then Darwin agrees to show him.
Darwin's first trick was to get him to spy on people when they are sad. If they are sad, he uses his magic words, “Hey, are you ok?” Darwin shows him how he does it. Gumball almost went off, but then Darwin tells him to listen for the answers. Try to think about something nice to say, then hugs Gumball and makes him cry.
FO:MO
Darwin goes up to Gumball, while he is in his locker, and talks about Tobias talking about a new show he watched. They both watched Tobias quoting stuff on the show, while making Anton laugh. Gumball and Darwin gets weirded by it and heads to class. Some girls were also quoting stuff off the show, which makes Gumball more confused. The girls starts making fun of Gumball for not watching the show, but Gumball tries to play it off. Gumball walks away and bumps into Penny.
She is also talking about the show, which Gumball tries to find a genre for it and made the girls impressed. Gumball also made a joke which got the girls laughing, while impressed Tobias. The next day comes and Gumball tries to quote something from it, but doesn’t impressed anyone. After getting embarrassed, he dragged Darwin to the supply closet to tell him about his situation. Only Darwin telling him that the show was never real.
Grand Mummy's Curse
Anais is up in the attic trying to find something with her brothers. They all pretend to be explorers, but Gumball is obsessed to be cursed. Darwin reads a label saying that if you open the baby pictures, you will be forever cursed. Gumball immediately opens it, sparking all three of them cursed. After that, all of them starts acted strange. Anais suggested bringing it to Granny Jojo, but trying, Gumball and Darwin falls down into the bottom. Many events of the curse kept happening from Gumball and Darwin, while Anais bring the box back to Jojo. Gumball and Darwin begs Granny Jojo to lift the curse which she agreed to.
