The Amazing World of Gumball Wiki

Multiverse Mayhem is an online game on the Cartoon Network website based off The Amazing World of Gumball.

Story[]

Rob has kidnapped Darwin and Gumball comes to the rescue. However, Rob is armed with the universal remote and tries to ambush our blue hero. Gumball wrestles Rob for the device, but they end up splitting the remote in two. With his own remote, Gumball uses it to summon a Cyborg Darwin from another dimension, whereas Rob uses his to make an army to destroy the duo. Cyborg Darwin advises Gumball to summon multiple versions of himself across the multiverse in order to repel Rob's army.

Eventually (once all fifty-two Gumballs are unlocked), the remotes start acting up from overuse, and neither Rob nor Gumball want to stop using them to summon more people for their armies. This causes both remotes to explode, knocking out Rob and defeating him. Cyborg Darwin returns to his home dimension, whereas Gumball is reunited with his Darwin... but now they have no idea how to return all the summoned Gumballs back to their worlds without the remote.

Gameplay[]

The game is a tower-defense style with a merging mechanic. In order to get more powerful Gumballs, the player has to merge two of the same level. For example, one must merge two Level 3 Gumballs to unlock Level 4 Gumball, and so on and so forth. In order to summon a Gumball, there must be an available slot out of 9 in their side of the screen. The player must click on the Universal Remote in the lower center of the screen in order to be able to generate a new summoning spawn point for a Gumball, but if all 9 slots are full, the player cannot summon any more Gumballs until a slot is emptied.

The Gumballs will stay in the far left side of the screen, whereas Rob's army (consisted of living inanimate objects) will come attack from the right (where a portal to the Void is placed). Their sole defense is a wall of cardboard boxes.

Each level is a wave consisting of regular enemies and a finall boss enemy which is a bigger version of these enemies that has more health. If at any point the Gumballs reach zero HP on their defenses, the wave is failed and they have to start again.

Upgrades & Power-Ups[]

As the Gumballs defeat enemies, the player can collect Lightnings to spend in the shop in order to improve their army. The shop has 6 items to upgrade and three purchaseable power ups, totaling nine items. The upgrades get more expensive as they are purchased, whereas the power ups increase price as waves are concluded. These are the shop items:

Upgrades[]

  • Defense Power: Upgrades and replenishes the HP of the Gumball Army defenses.
  • Money Multiplier: The amount of Lightning won by defeating enemies increases.
  • Gumball Starting Level: The summoned Gumballs will start with a higher level, making their merging easier. Requires the player to have reached a certain Gumball level in order to be able to purchase each level of the upgrade.
  • Attack Boost: Increases the damage each Gumball causes with their attacks.
  • Critical Hit Chance: Increases the odd of each Gumball's ability to cause critical damage.
  • Generator Speed: Decreases the cooldown for the Universal Remote to generate a new spawn point for a Gumball.

Power-Ups[]

  • Auto Merger: Allows the game's AI to automatically summon and merge Gumballs for a minute, leaving the player free to focus on other tasks during gameplay. Every time the player purchases this power-up while it's already active, the timer gets increased by an additional minute.
  • Turbo Speed: Increases the attack speed of each Gumball for a minute. Similarly to the power-up above, it stacks with continuous purchases.
  • Defense Repair: Replenishes the HP of the Gumball Army defenses, but it does not upgrade it like Defense Power does.

Characters[]

Locations[]

After a certain amount of waves the map with change to a new location, cycling through the same few on a loop. These are:

Triva[]

  • This game is the first, and so far only, time that Gumball's early reel design has been referenced/appeared in the series proper.
    • He is stated to be from "Pilot". This is the only instance thusfar in which the Early Reel has been reffered to by such a title.

Goofs/errors[]

  • Multiple episodes are listed incorrectly:
    • The Puppets is incorrectly listed as Season 5 Episode 36. It is actually Episode 40
    • The Copycats is incorrectly listed as Season 5 Episode 11. It is actually Episode 12.
    • The Faith is incorrectly listed as Season 6 Episode 9. It is actually Episode 11.
  • The game incorrectly includes multiple characters who aren't Gumball as Gumball variants
    • Nicole from the flashback sequence in The Fury is incorrectly included as Manga Gumball. The developers presumeably confused her for Gumball..
    • Zachariah Lopez Kirby is incorrectly included as a variant of Gumball. He is actually the cousin of Gumball, created by Sarah as part of her fanfictions in The Shippening.
    • Chi Chi is incorrectly included as a variant of Gumball. Though mimicking his actions for his own show, he is a seperate character from Gumball and bears no relation to him.
  • Some Gumball Variants include items that they were not seen with in their original appearances
    • 16-Bit Gumball is shown wearing a bandana, something he did not wear in the episode/scene he is from
    • Santa Gumball has a sack of gifts, which he uses to attack enemies, something he did not have in the episode he is from.
