In class Miss Simian stands watching the class as the take a test, Gumball, panicking, tries to get Darwin's attention to try and cheat off of him, but his brother simply holds up an angry drawing of himself stating that cheating is wrong. With his brother refusing to help Gumball instead asks Penny, and although she is reluctant she agrees after he says he'll owe her one. He looks over at Penny's test only to be immediately caught and given detention by Miss Simian.
Later on Gumball sits in detention with Julius, Reaper and Scythe as they are made to meditate by Mr Small. Gumball asks to use the bathroom and Mr Small agrees, but is quickly confused when the former clarifies that he wishes to use the bathroom until class starts tomorrow. After Gumball insists he'll owe him however, he agrees and lets him go. Outside Darwin is waiting for him, surprised at how quickly he got out. Asking him how, Gumball explains that he simply said he'd owe him one. Darwin explains that saying such a thing means he owes a favor to that person, but Gumball rejects the idea insisting that Mr Small will just forget about it like His father and Banana Joe, as well as Larry on three separate occasions.
Back at home Nicole asks Richard to take out the trash for her. He agrees, only to immediately ask Gumball to do it for him instead. Gumball refuse, fighting his father's attempts to pause his game. Having enough Richard finally calls in the favor Gumball owes him. Gumball is confused, as he still believes it to just be a saying, but his father insists owing someone a favor is a very serious matter. Once such a thing is said a contract is made and the universe will see to it that such contract is fulfilled no matter what. Suddenly a tornado passes by the Watterson's house, dragging Gumball and trash outside into the trash can outside, proving Richard's claim true. Gumball begins to panic, realizing he owes everyone in Elmore, so Darwin suggests he goes and settles his favors with everyone to put things straight.
Over at her house Penny answers to the door to a panicking Gumball frantically asking if he can do anything for her since he owes her one. She declines, saying she doesn't need anything at the moment, before explaining that she gave away the favor he owes her to someone else anyway. When he asks who to, she explains she didn't have enough for a tip so she gave Gumball's favor to the pizza guy. Rushing over to Larry's house Gumball's finds that he too gave away the favor to someone else. Asking who he is frozen in horror as he finds out Larry gave his favor to Mr Robinson.
Later that night Gumball has a nightmare where Mr Robinson demands he gives Darwin's head to him to put on Rocky's body. Awaking with a scream he finds the latter laying on his bad, happily watching him. After his brother explains his was watching Gumball sleep because they're friends, Gumball decides to offer himself to Mr Robinson instead in order to save Darwin. When he goes to do the next day however he is both relieved and surprised as Mr Robinson simply wants him to rake his lawn instead. He is less enthused, however, when the former insists he do it with only a fork. As he begins to complete his chore he quickly becomes bored and annoyed, so calls over Darwin and asks him to help him with it. His brother agrees, only to be left fuming as Gumball says he'll owe him one and leaves him to do it on his own.
Car Wash[]
In the living room Gumball, Darwin and Richard happily run around and squirt each other with whipped cream. Just as Richard is about to defeat the boys, however, their mother interrupts. Fed up of them destroying the house she demands to two go outside and wash the car as punishment. Gumball asks why their father doesn't have to do it with them, and Nicole explains that he has been scared of water ever since 'the incident' in which he was left stranded at sea on a raft. Annoyed, the two reluctantly leave to begin their chore.
They are even more annoyed as they see their father sunbathing just across from them whilst they're forced to wash the car. Quickly growing bored, Gumball asks if they can just play with the whipped cream some more instead. Darwin agrees, leaving the hose hanging through the window of the car, where it begins to fill up the car. The two are too distracted to notice however, and soon the pressure of the water causes the car doors to burst open and releases a large wave of water. The two are soon swept up in the rapid wave and fearfully left to be carried away. Before this can happen, however, their father heroically surfs over to them on his folded up sun lounger, before puling them aboard and surfing the three of them to safety on the car's roof. The two thank him for saving them, though are confused as they thought he was scared of water. Laughing, he explains that was simply a lie he made up to get out of washing the car.
