Gumball's Amazing Party Game is a game for iOS and Android devices. It was released on December 7th, 2020.

Summary

Gumball is throwing a party and you're invited! Get ready to go head to head with family, friends and foes as you explore four exciting board game worlds based on locations from The Amazing World of Gumball. Race your fellow players round the board and be the first one to reach the finish line - all while putting your skills to the test in cooperative and competitive mini-games! You never know what will happen next in Gumball's Amazing Party Game!

Gameplay

Upon entering the game, the player is greeted by Richard, who gives them instructions on how to play.

Oh hey, welcome to the party! We have some great fun for you! Check out these board games! Each one features a different awesome location. You can either play solo, or with friends or family. Pick a corner, choose your characters, and then battle it out to be the board champion. Take turns to roll the dice. And between rounds, you'll face different mini-game challenges to improve your chances. So, what are we waiting for? Let's play!

Richard

The players then get to choose their characters. If there are less than four players, the computer joins the game as well. The game features a practice board and four different locations, one of which is available for free, and the rest as in-app purchases. It also features different mini-games.

Mini-games

There are 20 mini-games in total, 5 of which are free, and the rest are available as in-app purchases. The mini-games are:

  • Ball Bounce – Work in pairs to score as many hoops as possible (available for free)
  • Baseball Smash – Hit away as many balls as you can before the time runs out (available for free)
  • Quick Reactions – Be the first to collect all the shiny objects but avoid the toxic trash (available for free)
  • Ghost Count – Count the number of times each type of ghost appears (available for free)
  • Hurdle Hop – Jump over the most hurdles to win the race (available for free)
  • Rainbow Jump – AVOID falling in the paint and be the last on playing (available for free, v1.0.6-onwards)
  • Ball Blocker – Stop the balls going into your goal. Player who lets in the least, wins
  • Exploding Lemonade – Don't be the one left holding the can when it explodes
  • Rapid Race – Reach the finish line first
  • Tug of War – Work in pairs to win the Tug of War
  • Dance Hero – Catch any of the shooting stars to show off your dance moves
  • Hoop Toss – Fling hoops onto the pegs to get the most points
  • Space Drift – Collect as many stars as possible on your space walk
  • Sumo Knockout – Dodge your opponents and shunt them off the stage
  • Door Dodge – Avoid falling through the mystery trap doors
  • Musical Statues – Dance along with Banana Joe, freeze when the music stops
  • Food Catch – Catch the falling food with your basket... Dodge the water balloons
  • Curling Chaos – Fling your pucks closest to the centre spot
  • Fishing Frenzy – Use your fishing rod to catch the most fish
  • Rope Slide – Slide down the rope as far as you can but don't fall off the end
  • Turtle Grab – Collect the most escaped turtles

Locations

Haunted House (available for free)

Do you dare sneak into the Haunted House? The first one brave enough to touch the spooky painting at the top of the stairs, wins! You'll need to collect magic keys from the mini games to unlock the doors. Oh and be sure to watch out for the ghosts... Go on, I dare you!

Richard

The players take turns rolling the dice and move around the location, stepping on different fields. Some fields are marked with a question mark and upon stepping on them, the player is given four chance cards:

  • Swap! – Swap places with another player.
  • Move! – Move forward/backwards.
  • Free! – Get a certain amount of keys for free.
  • Steal! – Steal keys from another player.

Three of these cards simultaneously appear on the screen and the decision of which card is to be used is made randomly by the computer. After each player has rolled the dice, a randomly picked mini-game is played and the players are awarded keys based on their performance in the mini-game. The keys are used to unlock the doors of the Haunted House.

Rainbow Factory

Roll up and step inside the Rainbow Factory. Your job is to find 6 rainbow pieces hidden on the factory floor. The winner is the player who collects the most pieces. After each mini-game, the conveyer belts will start moving! Careful you don't get dropped into the paint! Good Luck!

Richard

The mechanics of the game are the same as in the Haunted House, though this time players are not awarded keys, but gold coins. The gold coins are used to purchase rainbow pieces which are placed on random fields. Each piece costs five coins. The chance fields are once again marked with question marks and the chance cards players get by stepping on them are the same as in the Haunted House. After a round ends (all players have rolled the dice and played a mini-game), the conveyer belt starts moving and if a player happens to be on a conveyer belt field, they might get dropped into a bucket of paint. If that happens, they are returned to an earlier field. Due to the possibility of multiple players collecting the same number of rainbow pieces, the game can end with a tie.

The Void

Nooo! You've been sucked into the Void! A world of nothingness. Your only chance to escape is through the portal and you'll need a remote control. To power it you must collect batteries from the mini-games. Reach the end before the portal closes or else you will be erased forever!

Richard

Just like in the first two locations, player roll the dice, move along the map and play mini-games. In this location, they collect batteries. Once they have three or more batteries, they can purchase a Remote Control card upon reaching a chence field. The chance fields are this time marked with an exclamation mark and have two inseparable functions. When the player steps on a chance field and has enough batteries, they buy a Remote Control card and also get access to one of the three chance cards:

  • Slow-Mo! – Another player can only roll 1, 2 or 3.
  • Pause! – Another player misses their next turn.
  • Rewind! – Another player moves backwards three spaces.

Unlike in the first two locations, where the player must get the exact number on the dice to step on the chance field, in this location it is possible to get a bigger number and pass the field, while still acquiring its perks.

Elmore

Welcome to the amazing world of Elmore! Who will be the first to reach the finish line and be crowned champion? No need to roll a dice here. Play and win mini games to move forwards. The better you do, the further you'll go! See you at the end, kids!

Richard

In this location, nothing is collected – players move based on their performance in the mini-games. The first one to reach the final field wins. It is possible that the game ends with a tie. If multiple players are on the same field and get to reach the final field from there, they all win.

Trivia

  • Most of the gameplay is very similar to the Mario Party series.
  • Glitch: Swiping a specific way on the character selection table can result in duplicate characters, something the game usually does not allow, especially in 1-Player Mode. It is currently unknown which way of swiping causes this.
  • Goof: When starting the game, all six playable characters are supposed to be seen hiding behind the couch, but Carrie is seen twice and Penny does not appear.
  • Goof: Although the minigame is called Dance Hero, Richard announces its name as Dancing Hero.
  • Even though Richard says batteries are needed to power the remote control, it is possible to win without having collected a single battery in the Void.
  • The game uses background music from "Trophy Challenge" in most of the mini-games except for Counting Ghosts.
  • This is the first game of the series that can be played on Apple TV as well.
  • This is Cartoon Network's second game to be played on Apple TV. The first was "Steven Universe: Unleash the Light".
