Ghost Blast is a PC game based on The Amazing World of Gumball. It is also playable on iOS and Android devices as part of the Cartoon Network GameBox app. The game was released in late August of 2021.
Summary[]
Help the gang clear out a haunted mansion. Play as Anais, Gumball and Darwin and explore all the rooms. Use your camera, your ghost vacuum and your skill to suck up all the different kinds of ghost. Make sure you don't lose all your health and try your best to find all the keys. Good luck![1]
Gameplay[]
Upon entering the game, the player is introduced to the story. They play as Anais.
“ |
It's already close to midnight and the boys are still inside that mansion. I might have to go in and get them. I would not want to be there when Mom figures out we are not home. |
” |
—Anais |
The player is prompted to enter the mansion. Their main goal is finding Gumball, Darwin and Carrie. Once they enter the mansion, its main door locks and the player can no longer go out. At this point, Anais' diary opens and briefly introduces the player to the story once more.
The player has to explore the mansion and fight ghosts that appear in random rooms. They do so by stunning them with a camera and then trapping them in a vacuum cleaner. At the beginning, the player has three lives, visually represented as hearts. They lose lives when ghosts manage to hurt them. The amount of lives they lose upon contact with the ghost varies between all ghost types. If the player loses all of their lives, they are transported to a nearby location with their lives restored.
After her first two fights, Anais ventures further into the mansion and decides to make a map of it.
“ |
I better make a map of the house. If I get lost, there's no way I'm finding the guys and getting out of here before midnight. |
” |
—Anais |
Anais keeps exploring the mansion. Some doors are locked with a colored lock and require the player to have a key of the same color to unlock them and access the rooms. These keys are acquired by fighting ghosts.
At one point, Anais gains a lime key, which unlocks a door that leads to Gumball. Upon entering the door, the player finds Gumball.

After this interaction, Gumball replaces Anais as the main playable character. A button in the bottom right corner of the screen lets the player swap the two at any point, if they wish to play as the other one.
The player keeps roaming around the mansion and eventually acquires a yellow key, which enables them to access a room where Darwin is locked. Upon finding Darwin, the player can see two different dialogues. If they are playing as Gumball, they'll see the following:

Alternatively, if the player finds Darwin whilst playing as Anais, the following interaction occurs:

” |
This unlocks Darwin as a playable character. The player can once again choose whether they want to play as Anais, Gumball, or Darwin.
The player progresses towards the top floors of the mansion, where Carrie is located. They fight ghosts, collect keys, and unlock doors to new rooms. After certain fights, the player is rewarded with an additional item. The item can be either a life, a flash, or a vacuum cleaner. Once the player gains three additional vacuum cleaners, their vacuum cleaner turns into a ghost zapper, which zaps ghosts instead of trapping them.
When the player enters a room just beneath the one Carrie is in, it is time for a final fight. The player fights two Bully Ghosts and a lot of other ghost types that the Bullies summon. Once the fight is over, the player progresses upwards and finds Carrie. The interaction that follows is always the same, no matter if the player is Anais, Gumball, or Darwin.

After this, the final scene is played. The trio gets out of the mansion and it crumbles as they watch it. The game is completed. However, the player can return to the mansion once again and keep fighting ghosts until they free the mansion completely.
Ghost Types[]
There are four types of ghosts in total and they are all described in Anais' diary as she encounters them. They are:
- Octo-Ghost – They are slow and not very tough, but facing a whole gang could present a problem. They take away 1⁄4 of a heart upon contact.
- Cool Ghost – These ghosts are as fast as they are groovy. They can protect their eyes to avoid being stunned, but that's nothing a second flash can't handle. This type takes away 3⁄4 of a heart.
- Bully Ghost – These seem more dangerous and know how to protect themselves I hope they don't have more tricks up their sleeves! The Bully Ghost takes away one heart.
- Slippery Ghost – These guys can go into walls and avoid being flashed. They take away 1⁄2 of a heart.
