These are the relationships Gaylord Robinson has with other characters in the series.

Family[]

Margaret Robinson[]

Love Evil

Despite his rough and angry behavior, Mrs. Robinson is not intimidated by his anger, and even though they are married to each other, he and his wife share an oddly healthy relationship that revolves around arguing and yelling at each other. Although, his attitude towards her changed quite a bit in "The Poltergeist."

In one instance, Margaret was about to marry someone else when Mr. Robinson was sick, showing that she is not actually loyal to her husband. In addition, Mrs. Robinson seems very unfaithful to the marriage between her and her husband, often leaving him for other men. This trait is displayed both in "The Boss," in which she leaves her husband after taking his wallet, and "The Slide," in which she is seen using the dating service Trawlr despite the fact that she is in a marriage that is decades-old.

Rocky Robinson[]

TheHeart28

The relationship between Mr. Robinson and his son is not really well. As shown in "The Genius," Rocky does not want to stay with his parents. When Gaylord need a transfusion and Darwin suggest to ask Rocky, he refused. He said he wants nothing from "that loser." Gaylord said that Rocky is an embarrassment to the Robinson name. In "The Boss," Rocky told Gumball and Darwin that his dad often said that he such a dissapointment to him. Then, Rocky got a real office job in order to save his dad and make him proud.

In the same episode, at the hospital, Mr. Robinson groggily wakes up from his stuffing transfusion, which was a success thanks to Rocky's rather large donation. He says to his son that he and Margaret are proud of him. Rocky, however, reasons with his dad that he cannot live to be like him and decides to return to his school job. Though Mr. Robinson says that he understands, on the inside he is raging up a storm and the heart monitor tied to him is overloading. Gumball asks him, "Are you really sure? 'Cause it looks like you're about to..." but is unable to finish, as the heart monitor explodes, ending the episode.

In "The Heart," Rocky gives his dad some advice on how to win back Gumball and Darwin's friendship.

Neutral/Status unclear[]

Nicole Watterson[]

As shown in "The Sale," when Gumball and Darwin are sad that Mr. Robinson is moving, Nicole suggests that they might have pleasant neighbors this time. Gumball and Darwin become semi-demonic and rebuke their mother, making her take her words back— literally. Nicole then shows their children that he is still there.

Anais Watterson[]

In "The Sale," Anais states that Mr. Robinson moving is not the end of the world. In "The Console," Anais objecting when Gumball starts looting at Mr. Robinson's house.

Gumball is Mr. Robinson's next-door neighbor and has been so ever since Gumball was born. Gumball is obsessed with Mr. Robinson and tries his best to help him. Gumball always has the best intentions, but usually annoys or messes up Mr. Robinson's life instead. Gumball's strong determination to help Mr. Robinson is what annoys him so much.

Gumball's attempts to help Mr. Robinson usually go wrong in some way. In "The Debt," "The Car," and "The Boss" Gumball is shown trying to help Mr. Robinson but messes things up in the end, just adding to the list of reasons for Mr. Robinson to hate him.

Gumball has also been shown to annoy Mr. Robinson without him being his main focus. In "The Wand" Gumball's attempts to convince his dad that a magic wand is real results in him assaulting Mr. and Mrs. Robinson.

Sometimes Gumball wants to do something harmful to Mr. Robinson for his own selfishness. In "The Sale" he wants to ruin Mr. Robinson's possible sale just so Mr. Robinson can stay in Elmore with Gumball. In "The Code" he breaks into his house to get access to his wifi.

As it turns out, Mr. Robinson enjoys taking revenge on Gumball for the pain he causes him, and ultimately feels empty without Gumball in his life. This was revealed in "The Heart," where Mr. Robinson learns to hate Gumball a little less.

Darwin Watterson[]

Boss Proud

Mr. Robinson views Darwin almost identically to Gumball. Usually, Darwin follows Gumball in his actions towards Mr. Robinson because he cares for Mr. Robinson as much as Gumball does.

Mr. Robinson cannot remember either Gumball or Darwin's name as shown in "The Heart," which just shows how he cannot even distinguish between the two.

Darwin is seen acting near identical to Gumball in episodes centered around Mr. Robinson. "The Debt" and "The Console" are the few examples where Darwin does not partake in Gumball's actions toward Mr. Robinson.

Enemies[]

Richard Watterson[]

TheTag3

Mr. Robinson seems to hate Richard as much as he does Gumball and Darwin. He has been shown to try to humiliate and annoy Richard in "The Tag" similar to how he would try to get back at Gumball and Darwin. However, Mr. Robinson seems to be more violent towards Richard.

Mr. Robinson has not been shown to view Richard the same way he does Gumball and Darwin. While Gumball and Darwin give Mr. Robinson some meaning, Richard does not give him the same feeling.

In "The Wand" Richard was the one wishing for things to happen to Mr. and Mrs. Robinson in order to annoy them. He tried to vacuum Mr. Robinson in "The Poltergeist." He started the argument that led to both Richard and Mr. Robinson being put under house arrest in "The Tag."

Donut Cop[]

The Car 35

Mr. Robinson has been arrested by the sheriff a few times. Most of the time, he argues with the sheriff, but ultimately gets arrested.

In "The Car," he called the sheriff over to arrest Gumball and Darwin for wrecking his car. The sheriff arrested him instead for damaging the Wattersons' car. In "The Tag," the sheriff was the one who put him under house arrest.
