"Eat or Be Eaten" is a song from "The Question." In this song, the creatures from the Forest of Doom try to explain their meaning of life.
Lyrics
Squirrel: The meaning of life has a single rule
I know it makes sense, though it may seen cruel
The logic of the rule cannot be beaten
'Cause the meaning of life is to eat or be-
[The squirrel is stopped by a snake, who gulps the squirrel]
Snake: The truth my friend was trying to sweeten
Is that the meaning of life is to eat or be-
[The snake is eaten by a bird]
Bird: Alas, poor snake, his life was fleeting
For the meaning of life is to eat or be-
[The bird is eaten by a griffin]
Griffin: Allow me to finish what the bird was tweeting
The meaning of life is to eat or be eat-
[The griffin is swallowed whole by a cycloptic beast with antlers]
Beast: I'm sorry our song just keeps repeating
The meaning of life is to eat
Or be...!
[pauses, then looks around for others]
Well, I guess that the biggest remains unhurt
Which means that I have some time... [eyes Gumball and Darwin hungrily]
For dessert...
