Darwin asks Sarah for a photo to put on the cover of the school yearbook. But when Sarah tries to help, things get a little sticky.[1]
Plot
SPOILER AHEAD! Important details about the plot or story are up ahead |
The episode opens with Darwin in his room on his laptop, he looks for a photo for Sarah because it was only fair since she adds him and Gumball into her books. Darwin looks into all of the drawings Sarah has done with Gumball and Darwin. Darwin assumes that it was the book she got, then a clip from “The Comic”, shows the book where Sarah learns how to draw superheros by giving them more muscles. After that, Darwin tries to find a Photo of Sarah and Stump across a Video titled, “They call me Sarah”. The video of a Montage of Sarah either gets splattered, or have her head fall off. There was also a song over it repeatedly saying They call me- and ended with They call me Sarah. Darwin didn’t think it would work, so he scrolls down and found the “Stalker song” she showed to Gumball and Darwin, Darwin wasn’t too thrill about it. Then Darwin played the song from “The Fan” which Sarah sings about stalking them for a very long time. When Darwin plays for a few seconds of it, he immediately tries to click off, but accidentally loved and liked it a lot of times which brought attention to Sarah.
Sarah talked about Darwin obsessed with her and says she was obsessed with them, which Darwin Ironically says they never noticed, then a clip of “The Sweaters” showing Sarah staring at them. Then Darwin tells her the reason why was because he was looking for a picture to the year book. Sarah was so shocked because she was really, (repeatedly) Noisy at eating. Darwin thought she meant annoying, but deleted his comment out of guilt. Then a clip from “The Fan” show how noisy Sarah can be at eating. When her face was mess up in the clip, Darwin interrupts by asking for a better look for the photo. Sarah thinks the box from the “Secret Society“ looks better. Then shows “The Society” where Sarah has a box over her head. Then Sarah thinks a box over her head is perfect, but Darwin wants a photo that doesn’t have a box over her head. Then Sarah mentions Gumball from “The Comic” where they were trying to cosplay the characters in Sarah’s Comic then shows Sarah’s issues and made her think that they should add a photo from her comics.
Then shows her comic picture of her, then Sarah makes a joke about how hot she is and starts laughing. Darwin thinks he was real Sarah on instead of her comic book self. Sarah thinks for a moments, without food in her face, then thought about them racing to the mall. Then a shot from “The Gift” shows everyone racing to the museum, then leads to Sarah which Darwin melted her face. It looked harsh, so Sarah thought about all of them in the police car. Then a scene from “The Law” shows Gumball and Darwin in a police car where the Donut Cop is going crazy. It did not show Sarah with them, but for a few second can see her frighted out, which Darwin thinks that’s not going to fit. Sarah suggested that instead of frighten, she is frightening. Which shows “The Check” where all of Darwin’s classmates, including Sarah, was attacking him. Darwin is questioning how Sarah knows his dreams, which is because she is their biggest fan. And she also mention the dream Darwin had in “The Advice” About The goat and cake shoes.
Again Sarah wasn’t there, but was there in a few seconds. Darwin finally settled this, he just wanted a regular photo that is not the other Darwin had problems with. Sarah sents some other photos from different episodes until get one from “The Shippening” with a shirt and sunglasses. When editing her on to the yearbook, Darwin found crumbs on her, so he tried to blur it. Turns out Darwin blurred her entire face and drew her features back on, but isn’t good. Darwin just says she will like it, and Sarah responds in their room for an hour, scaring Darwin ending the episode.

-
- [The episode begins in Gumball and Darwin's room, where Darwin is seen typing on a laptop. The camera then zooms to his laptop's screen, showing the yearbook front cover]
- Darwin: It's only fair if I put Sarah on the front cover. [goes into her Elmore Plus account] She's put me and Gumball in so many of her books.
- Darwin: I gotta hand it to her, she really improved. Must be that book she read.
-
- [Scene from "The Comic" plays, Gumball rushes around a corner where Darwin and Sarah are standing. He looks back, panicked]
- Gumball: [Panting, exhausted] Dude, [clutches Darwin's face] Who the derp is LaserHeart?
- Sarah: [Showing the LaserHeart issue in her hands] You are! You're a superhero, whose special power is your optimistic heart!
- Darwin: You inflict justice and bad dialogue on the villains of Elmore, you're anatomically incorrect, and this is your costume.
-
- [Darwin takes an issue from Sarah and holds it up. Its cover displays an adult, humanoid hero flying and looking over a city. The hero hardly looks like Gumball, merely having thin blue fur and very small cat ears. He is dressed in a Batman-like costume, the color scheme consisting of pink and purple, with a very midriff-bearing top that has a glowing, pink heart on it]
- Gumball: [Looking at the cover] But that's... that's-
- Darwin: Extremely revealing? Profoundly disturbing? Medically impossible?
- Gumball: That's... AWESOME! [Takes the issue to look at it further, walking nearer towards Sarah]
- Sarah: I know, right? I made it myself!
- Gumball: How?!
- Sarah: I learned from this book! [Reading cover] How to Draw Superheroes.
-
- [Sarah holds up How to Draw Superheroes. The cover shows Chuck Klein at his desk, drawing a superhero comic]
- Sarah: [Turns page; reading] Draw muscles, [Turns page again] then more muscles!
- Gumball: [Gasps] [Flicking through issue pages] It's like looking in a mirror!
-
- [scene ends]
- Darwin: Lets see if there's a nice photo of her.
-
- [Darwin scrolls down the page until he finds a video.]
- Darwin: Ah-ha! "They call me Sarah." She's bound to look good in that.
"They call me Sarah"
-
- [The video starts with Sarah getting hit Jamie's dodgeball in "The Stories." Music starts playing]
- Sarah: [singing] They call me.
-
- [It then shows her bumping into a fence causing her head to fall off in "The Sweaters." Then plays a scene from "The Fan"]
- Sarah: [flashback] Oh, hi guys!
-
- [Gumball and Darwin use her head as leverage to jump over the fence]
- Sarah: [singing] They call me.
-
- [Then shows Jamie eating Sarah and Banana Joe in "The Coach," and Gumball throwing a dog at her in "The Fan"]
- Sarah: [singing] They call me.
-
- [Then shows other times that Gumball pushed her in "The Fan." Gumball rams into Sarah, knocking her head off her cone. Then he shoves her into a car]
- Sarah: [singing] They call me.
-
- [Shows Gumball shoving her into a window. Then later coming back (to another Sarah) to push her. Then Gumball throws Sarah at another Sarah]
- Sarah: [singing] They call me, they call me,
- Sarah: [singing] They call me, [autotune] they call me,
-
- [She shoves her hand into her face in "The Potato"]
- Sarah: [singing] They call me,
-
- [Another time Gumball rams into her in "The Fan"]
- Sarah: [singing] They call me,
-
- [Some of Sarah gets on Darwin's face in "The Society," and shows her upset in "The Voice"]
- Sarah: They call me Sarah.
-
- [Her head falls off, Darwin stops the video.]
- Darwin: Maybe not. What else?
-
- [He scrolls down but finds the stalker video that he and Gumball saw in "The Fan" which is called "Everybody stalkin"]
- Darwin: Oh man, I can't believe she posted this!
The Stalker song
-
- [Scene from "The Fan" plays, the video begins with Sarah removing the lens from the camera, and it focuses on Gumball in his house. Gumball takes his shirt off, sees Sarah, and shuts the blinds. The video continues, showing various scenes of Sarah stalking Gumball and Darwin throughout their lives]
- Sarah: For a very long time
-
- I've watched you from afar
-
- Hunched in your closet
-
- Or strapped beneath your car
-
- I treasured all the stories
-
- The three of us share
-
- Wherever you are
-
- I'll always be there
-
- When you were alone
-
- I was there too
-
- Behind the shower curtain
-
- And you never knew
-
- [Darwin immediately stops the video]
- Darwin: STOP, STOP STOP! I can't watch this!
-
- [Darwin button mashes the pause button, which causes him to accidentally hit the thumbs up and heart icons]
- Darwin: No, NO NO NO NO! I didn't mean to give it the-
-
- [The DM window appears, Sarah starts texting]
- Sarah: [texting] You liked my song!!!❤️👍 Haha, can you believe it used to be ME who was obsessed with YOU?! 🧡
- Darwin: [texting] Were you? We never noticed
-
- [Scene from "The Sweaters" plays. Gumball and Darwin eat while watching Sarah warily from out a window]
- Gumball: This girl's trouble man.
-
- [scene ends]
- Sarah: [texting] And now YOU'RE the one stalking ME!
- Darwin: [texting] What? No. I was just looking for a good photo of you for the cover of the yearbook.
- Sarah: [gasps] [texting] SQUEEEEEEEEE!
- Darwin: [texting] Ohh, that's how you spell it.
- Sarah: [texting] I'm just so happy and surprised you chose me. Remember when I used to really really really really really really really...
- Darwin: [texting] Yeah, annoying?
- Sarah: [texting] noisy at eating.
-
- [Darwin deletes his previous message]
- Darwin: [nervously] [texting] Sure, who could forget?
Noisy Eater
-
- [Scene from "The Fan" plays, while Gumball and Darwin eat, they suddenly hear a weird noise. To the left Sarah is seen noisily eating an ice cream from the tail cone. She sucks all the ice cream into her mouth]
- Sarah: Ah! [To Gumball and Darwin] Don't you hate it when people eat noisily cause I do. I'm so like you in that way. Hey! We should totally go on an adventure where we like tell people off for their bad habits but learn that everyone should be themselves, and then we hug! [Sarah holds her hands up, signifying a hug, then gets up and walks to Tina] Hey! Me and my BFFs, Gumball and Darwin think that maybe you should stop mouth breathing. It's not very dignifying and it's making the cafeteria moist. But we forgive you, because it's important for you to be you. [Does the hugging gesture towards Gumball and Darwin again]
-
- [Tina growls]
- Darwin: How about we just have lunch?
- Sarah: [Squeals] Yeah, sure. No problem. Can I sit here? [Whispery voice] At your table?
- Gumball: Yeah. Whatever.
-
- [Sarah sits and melts excitedly. Then she stays still for a moment while the other two eat. Suddenly she talks to them again]
- Sarah: So, now we sit together at lunch. I guess we need to work on our dynamic.
- Darwin: Wuh?
- Sarah: Yeah, since I moved school to be near you guys, I haven't figured out where I fit in. 'Cuz am I like, the kooky one?
- [Gumball and Darwin shrug. Sarah is then seen wearing white cat ears with whiskers, purple eye lids, light blue lips and playing a ukulele]
- Sarah: Kooky Kooky Kooky Kooky Kooky Kooky Koo-ky-Koo...
-
- [Gumball and Darwin stare questioningly]
- Sarah: [Off-screen] No?
-
- [Sarah is then seen wearing gigantic glasses, and her eyes look bigger]
-
- Sarah: Okay so maybe I'm like the [Rubs her left shoulder] nerdy insecure one, but then I take my glasses off, and I'm like super cute.
-
- [Sarah take her glasses off, and spins her head like hair. Her face becomes a mess]
-
- [scene ends]
- Darwin: [texting] That's not your best look.
- Sarah: [texting] Yeah, I'd rather be in character.
- Darwin: [texting] As who?
- Sarah: [texting] Anyone! How about when I was a member of that secret society?
The Society
-
- [Scene from "The Society" plays]
- Banana Joe: Approach, underling.
-
- [Gumball and Darwin walk to Joe.]
- Gumball: Uh–good a–good after–evening, grand lord–warlock.
-
- [Gumball curtsies, then stretches his shirt like a skirt.]
- Darwin: What was that about?
- Gumball: No idea.
- Banana Joe: So, you have found our secret society, which we keep secret… from society. To join us, you must face two tri–
- Teri: [whispering to Joe] Three trials.
- Banana Joe: Three trials. The first is the flogging of the novice. Bring out the ceremonial pillows! [Claps]
- [The members bring out trays with pillows on pillows.]
-
- [scene freezes when Sarah is on screen]
- Sarah: It's me. On the right.
- Darwin: Yeah, got it. Anyway, what kind of society presents a pillow on a pillow?
-
- [scene unfreezes]
- Darwin: What kind of society presents a pillow on a pillow?
-
- [scene freezes]
- Darwin: Sorry, I forgot I already said that.
-
- [scene unfreezes]
- Gumball: [Bows] Yes, I beg you, grand vizier, I do not need special treatment. I would go all the way. I'll do anything, like drink bat's blood, dance with flaming swords, touch the gross metal part of the water fountain with my cheek. You know, hard core stuff.
- Banana Joe: [Whispers] Sorry, man. But, if he doesn't get what he wants, we'll have to suffer for the rest of the week.
- Darwin: You are not gonna beat him up!
- Gumball: Then I'll do it myself!
-
- [Gumball grabs a metal tray, and beats his face repeatedly. His face slowly becomes more bruised.]
- Gumball: Still standing! Still standing. Stang standung… [Groans]
- Mister Small: Please, stop! You have proven yourself.
-
- [A stream of tears comes out of Gumball's black eye.]
- Mister Small: What an amazing warrior spirit. How does he stay standing?
-
- [Gumball's head literally shatters.]
- Mister Small: Oh, well that makes more sense.
-
- [scene ends]
- Sarah: [texting] So, what about that?
- Darwin: [texting] You have a box on your head.
- Sarah: [texting] Fun, right?!
- Darwin: [texting] Ideally your photo should show your face.
- Sarah: [texting] Ooh ooh - I got it! Remember that time Gumball was Lazerheart?
- Darwin: [texting] I could never forget.
Lazerheart
-
- [Scene from "The Comic" plays, Gumball is looking in a mirror, wearing a crude LaserHeart costume consisting of a torn tank top, Gumball's underpants, rubber gloves, pink thigh boots, a purple ski mask, and a purple cape]
- Gumball: Weird, it looks super heroic in the comic, but in reality it looks more like super naked.
- Darwin: It's still not as weird as Sarah cosplaying as herself.
-
- [The camera zooms out to show Sarah also wearing a make-do costume simulating her own head, body and legs]
- Sarah: [Sighs] This costume is too hot.
-
- [Sarah takes off her costume head; the real one is stuck inside. She shakes it out, letting it fall onto her body, a disfigured mess. She looks at the costume one and tosses it away]
- Sarah: And anyway, it looks nothing like me. [Shakes her head back to normal] But your costume is per-fec-to! [Starts rubbing her knees in excitement]
- Darwin: [Covering his mouth; to Gumball] That girl's got issues.
- Sarah: You're right! I've got every issue! [Holds up multiple LaserHeart comics]
-
- [scene ends]
- Sarah: [texting] Ooh yes! We could use a picture of me from my Lazerheart comic!
-
- [Another scene from "The Comic" plays, Sarah pulls up the comic in front of them and smiles]
- Gumball: Sarah, please, just stop.
- Sarah: Just read it.
-
- [Gumball sighs and opens the comic]
- Gumball: [Reads from comic] I'm so glad you guys are still friends despite fighting for my affections?
-
- [Gumball and Darwin look at her]
- Sarah: What? It's fanfiction, there's bound to be a bit of shipping.
-
- [Gumball turns the page as the scene changes to the comic's pages]
- Sarah: Aah, what a pleasant evening in the park.
-
- [The shadow figure suddenly appears, giving a roar]
- Gumball: Onyx! I should've known.
- Darwin: Don't worry, LaserHeart, I got this!
-
- [The Smooch attempts to charge Onyx, but ends up getting beaten up]
- Gumball: The Smooch!
- Onyx: Now for the girl!
-
- [Onyx grabs Sarah, scene freezes]
- Sarah: [texting] There! If I looked any hotter I'd melt! [laughs] ROTFLAGBOTLIDSOMFWITPOAE!
- Darwin: [texting] I guess - wait, what does rotflagbotlidsomfwitpoae mean?
- Sarah: [texting] Rolling on the floor laughing and getting bits of the lunch I dropped stuck on my face which I then pick off and eat.
- Darwin: [texting] Right. Do you use that a lot?
- Sarah: [texting] More than you'd think actually.
- Darwin: [texting] Anyway I'm not sure that the comic book Sarah is right for the yearbook. How about just being yourself?
- Sarah: [texting] With or without lunch on my face.
- Darwin: [texting] Without.
- Sarah: [texting] Hmm, narrows it down ... Oh, how about when we all raced to the mall?
Race to the Mall
-
- [Scene from The Gift" plays, most of Gumball's classmates run down the hall. Gumball turns on a water fountain, causing Bobert to short out and crash into a wall. Darwin attaches Tobias' headband to a door handle, causing the former to start stretching out. The kids enter the cafeteria and Darwin kicks Idaho into Principal Brown's lunch. He gets picked up by Prinicipal Brown's fork and screams, causing Principal Brown to notice him and scream as well. Gumball and Darwin approach Teri and Darwin blows her away. Some of the remaining kids exit the school. In the style of an 8-bit videogame, Gumball jumps on Ocho and uses him as a bowling ball against Jamie, Tina, Carmen, and William. Sarah reaches the mall parking lot]
- Sarah: I made it! I made it!
-
- [Darwin uses a car's side-view mirror to reflect the sun onto her and melt her head, making her fall over.]
-
- [scene ends]
- Darwin: [texting] That seemed legit at the time but now it looks really harsh.
- Sarah: [texting] Hmm, what else then? Oh! The time you and Gumball went nuts in a police car.
Was she even there?
-
- [Scene from "The Law" plays, The Doughnut Sheriff speeds through the road while Gumball and Darwin scream. He laughs maniacally]
- Gumball: Dude, I know you just want to show you're cool. But where's the limit?!
-
- [The sheriff ignores a speed limit sign telling him to go at fifty mph. Due to his high speed, the signpost twists, and falls over]
- Gumball: I mean, why not drive with your eyes closed, and your hands in the air too?!
- Donut Cop: Ah, great idea! [Drives with eyes closed and hands in air]
-
- [Gumball then screams]
- Donut Cop: Whoohoo!
- [He drives on the wrong lane, and barely hits other cars and people going the opposite direction]
- Darwin: [Panicked] No! NO! He was trying to use reverse psychology!
- Donut Cop: Did someone say reverse?!
-
- [The sheriff reverses the car, and drives backwards. The car flies off a speed bump, and a speed camera takes a snapshot of the car's bottom. They continue driving, no longer reversed.]
-
- [scene freezes]
- Darwin: Wait, how are you remembering this? You weren't there!
- Sarah: Yes, I was.
-
- [scene unfreezes]
-
- [Doughnut Sheriff laughs maniacally again, and ignores a red traffic light]
- Gumball: It's red! It's red! IT'S RED!
-
- [Two cars bump into each other. The Sheriff begins to drive off the road, barely hitting pedestrians in the way. Scene freezes when Sarah appears on screen.]
-
- Sarah: [texting] That's me!
- Darwin: [texting] No, you look a bit too frightened there.
- Sarah: [texting] Oh then how about when I look frightening?
-
- [Scene from "The Check" plays, Darwin is at a toxic waste dump site]
- Darwin: Hello?
-
- [Zombie versions of Masami, Carrie, Leslie, Tobias, Carmen and Sarah pop out and approach Darwin. He starts screaming.]
-
- [scene ends]
- Darwin: [texting] That was my dream sequence! How do you know what's in my dreams?
- Sarah: [texting] Cos I'm your biggest fan, duh! Oh, the best dream was the one with the cake shoes.
- Darwin: [texting] And the goat?
- Sarah: [texting] You got it.
-
- [Scene from "The Advice" plays, in the classroom, Gumball is naked wearing a leprechaun hat and Darwin has the water on]
- Darwin: Last night, I dreamed that I was in this classroom and there was a naked leprechaun talking backwards—
- Gumball: Humiliating is this.
- Darwin: [Wearing cake slices on his feet] And I was wearing shoes made of cake, and then the room filled with water, and I saw two goldfish in the distance, and then I rode all the way up to them on Abraham Lincoln the goat...[a goat with Abraham Lincoln's head screams] ...and then they offered me a nut for a jar of tuna.
- Gumball: A nut for a jar of tuna?
- Darwin: Backwards...
- Gumball: A...nut for a jar of tuna.
- Darwin: Huh. But then I woke up. So if I follow my dream to the end, I'll get to find out what happened next.
- Gumball: Sense perfect makes this.
- Darwin: What? [Gumball sighs and holds his hands out] Okay, so while we wait for the room to fill up with water, I'll just climb on Abraham.
-
- [He does and the goat screams and bucks. It then runs around the room, knocking over desks. It bumps into Miss Simian's desk, causing Darwin to fly into the chalkboard. The goat runs out of the room]
- Darwin: Wait!
-
- [He slips and falls. He and Gumball exit the room. Mr. Small stands in a doorway]
- Mister Small: So, how's my advice working out for you guys?
-
- [In the background, the goat runs and headbutts Tobias]
-
- [scene freezes]
- Darwin: Wait, you weren't there for this either.
- Sarah: Give it a second.
-
- [scene unfreezes]
- Darwin: Great. I mean, maybe cake shoes were a bad idea, but--
- Mister Small: Bad idea? Hmm. Impossible. There's no such thing as a bad idea.
- Darwin: What do you mean?
- Mister Small: How would we have discovered milk if someone hadn't looked a cow's udder and said, "I'm gonna drink from that"? Like I said, no such thing as a bad idea.
-
- [In the background, the goat chases Sarah]
- Gumball: [sighs] That's another--
-
- [scene freezes]
- Sarah: There I am!
- Darwin: [sighs] [texting] Ah, I think this has gotten too complicated. I just need a simple photo of you, looking like you, in focus, not splatted, or scared, or melting, or in costume, or with food on your face.
- Sarah: [texting] But food IS my face.
- Darwin: [texting] You know what I mean.
- Sarah: [texting] Okay how about this?
-
- [Sarah sends a photo of her melting in "The Stories"]
- Darwin: [texting] Too melty.
- Sarah: [texting] Okay how about this?
-
- [Sarah sends a photo of her in a moon costume from "The Scam"]
- Darwin: [texting] Too painted.
- Sarah: [texting] This one?
-
- [Sarah sends a photo of her writing love stories while showing an evil face in "The Shippening"]
- Darwin: [texting] Too evil.
- Sarah: [texting] This?
-
- [Sarah sends a photo of her gasping in excitement in "The Inquisition"]
- Darwin: [texting] Too ... happy I guess
- Sarah: [texting] How 'bout this?
-
- [Sarah sends a photo of her with a horrified expression in "The Safety"]
- Darwin: [texting] I ... don't even know what that is, but it's too that.
- Sarah: [texting] I know... this!
-
- [Sarah sends a photo of her wearing cat glasses and a shirt holding a Japanese magazine in "The Shippening"]
- Darwin: [texting] Too ... actually that's fine.
- Sarah: [texting] ありがとう ["Thanks" in Japanese]
- Darwin: [texting] さよなら ["Bye" in Japanese]
Putting her photo
-
- [Darwin closes his DMs and putts her photo on the yearbook cover]
- Darwin: Man, that was way too difficult. Wait... hang on.
-
- [Darwin realizes something with the photo. He zooms in and sees that there are a few crumbs on her face]
- Darwin: [sighs] I'll just have to blur it a bit. [starts blurring] a bit more... a bit more...
-
- [He zooms out and realizes that he blurred her entire face]
- Darwin: I'll just have to draw her features back on.
-
- [He uses the brush tool hand draws her face, but due to his terrible art skills, it looked a bit off]
- Darwin: Hm. Nah, she'll love it.
- Sarah: I do.
-
- [The screen shakes as Darwin screams]
- Darwin: How long have you been sitting there?
- Sarah: 'Bout an hour.
-
- [Episode ends]
