The chimera is a single-appearance character in The Amazing World of Gumball. His first appearance was in "The Friend," where he is revealed to have been created by an elderly toymaker as an imaginary friend but becomes homeless after his previous owner dies. After the death of his creator, he went on to look for a new friend, breaking into houses and unintentionally scaring people. He explodes after digesting soda and mints, but his body reforms at the end of the episode.
Appearance
He is a combination of a great white shark's head with black hair, multiple building blocks for a body, a muscular action figure right arm with a spike bracelet, a left arm with a buzz saw attached to the end of it, a human right leg, a scaly left leg, and a crocodile's tail. The chimera also has the ability to remove his body parts, and put them back together again, as of his toy-like nature.
Personality
Despite his scary appearance, the chimera is actually a meek, socially awkward monster with a heart of gold. His social awkwardness is what makes him such good friends with Anais. The chimera also has a more bold and courageous side, which is shown when he goes as far as threatening to blow himself up when the police try to arrest him, and then proceeding to do it, showing selflessness in the process.

- His body is made out of building bricks similar to Mega Bloks or Lego blocks, while his right leg is made out from a Barbie doll leg and his left leg appears to be similar to The Thing from the Fantastic Four comic series.
- His origin story seems to be based off of the movie Edward Scissorhands, where the titular character was created by an old inventor in the past but is left incomplete.
- The way he puts himself back together at the end is similar to how the titular character of The Iron Giant repairs itself.
