Oh, the drama over servers...

Neutral — I won't deny that Csillagfény has made
a lot of excellent points for a Wiki-oriented server. What precludes me from supporting this motion are the state of the existing servers, plus my own personal distaste for a relatively active chat and large number of users.

Short story time: I was once semi-active on this wiki's own chat. Entertaining users and topics were aplenty. I've had good and bad times there, but gradually my experience was getting worse and worse until one day I basically ragequit. To this day, I'm still disgusted with wiki chat (and certain users) and don't plan on returning.

A couple months ago, I finally got around to joining Discord for the "official" Gumball server, which had been created sometime last year. Discord is certainly much better and nicer than Wikia's chat. However, the server isn't without its own problems...

As noted earlier, there are currently three Discord servers: one apparently isn't really Gumball-oriented; another is the most popular among users on and off this wiki; the last one is invite-only for the time being. I'm a member of the latter two.

I'm not going to lie: I'm not too pleased with Klstixbro's server (a.k.a. the most popular one) and its members, save a few. Too many users chatting at a time; too much low-quality discussion (affectionately known as "sh*tposting;") too erratic activity (it can go dead quiet at times or go too fast-paced,) etc. For that I've taken refuge in the invite-only server with far fewer (but much more bearable) members and a much mellower environment. I kind of wish I could just up and leave the server, but I can't bring myself to do so -- otherwise I'd be cutting off other users' (especially ones who are Wiki admins/mods) means of contacting me directly.

Now I'd love to throw in my support for a new wiki-oriented server, but I keep hearing clamors that doing so would divide the community further. Plus, the mods on the current server are claiming they're trying to improve the quality, but I'm not so certain about that. That's why I chose to remain neutral on this for now -- I'd like to wait and see whether or not any change in the status of the server warrants a separate one for wiki-related topics.
