It take place in California. So, after he was here homeschooled, he got a pardon for trying to defend himself by saying ingoobelyblence, so they felt safe enough to send him to Elmore Junior High. Where he met Gumball and Darwin, but unbeknownst to him, they are (for the most part) law-abiding citizens.
But, his parents busted him out, and to lay low, he was homeschooled. That’s why they hate the GOVERNMENT, because they locked there boy up.
