In Eastern culture, when two people are connected by a red line, which means they'll have a romantic relationship, and end up in marriage.

Thanks to someone, I have a new idea for my drawing. So I recently checked out every TAWOG ship that includes Gumball (Canon + Fandom).

And it turns out... there are a lot of them...

I know not all people take the ships above in a romantic way (it can be friendship sometimes), it's just...some people really did in that way…

Some are cute, some are interesting, some are quite bizarre, while some of them...I need holy water.

Which character do you like to ship with Gumball? And which Gumball ship do you think is the weirdest?

Background characters are allowed, yes. Also I think it’s Anton. I like him but he doesn’t really add much to the story, he’s like Kenny (South Park) but appears much less, also he’s not a main character. I also feel like he’s only her for comedic relief or just to put in a joke that had been done plenty of times. It doesn’t bother me, I’m just saying it for the topic.

Gumball and Penny's issues can be boiled down to Penny being written as Gumball's love interest rather than her own person and Gumball being seemingly more in love with the idea of Penny than anything else. He often ignores her and disrespects her boundaries but she stays with him anyway despite these red flags because that's what she's supposed to do as a love interest. Honestly this ship and other similar ships that pair a loser guy and a girl who's way out of his league just comes across as self insert wish fulfillment for any loser guy watching. Now wish fulfillment in fiction isn't always a bad thing but it definitely is when it tricks guys into believing that they're owed female attention when they've done nothing to deserve it and as a woman, it just frustrates me.
