@Polastournecis I agree, I just don't see her over aggressive nature as a good development. It just makes her look a bit toxic, they did the same to penny in season 6, it wasn't a good look. I liked Carrie better as a calm person that while angst filled at times, wasn't overly aggressive. So seeing her act like this is more of a regression of her character back to her debut season 1 episode if anything. It also just kinda ruins her and gumballs friendship. The episode for me feels a bit contrived, they randomly introduce a plot point that feels a bit nonsensical if anything, considering her past interactions with Darwin.

Also, I'm not sure she almost killed darwin because of her state of mind at the time. When Gumball said the phrase "I love you", purely as an example, she just beat him up aggressively. Which makes it seem she just hates the phrase as a whole, and that phrase is simple mind you, it's not over affection. Considering her past actions towards gumball in this ep, she'd probably attack darwin if he ever read her his love letter. Which makes it seem that she doesn't like people expressing their emotions in general, which isn't like her at all. What I truly hate about the episode is making Carrie look like some rage filled jerk when we've had many episodes proving otherwise.

P.s. pretty sure the only reason she didn't attack Penny and gumball was because none of that affection was directed at her. Yet, when gumball directs the smallest, most minor showing of affection at her, she goes ballistic.

@LEFTE-BEHIND 2 What i can say, how the character is depicted on-screen is not entirely all of them. The thing, we cannot know their behaviors are for reasons or inherently being their nature

Talking about Carrie, pretty clear it's due to situational bad mood, like she only lashed out Gumball because she felt herself just being treated like a joke when Gumball asked "what if i say i love you" right after he expressed over-affection with Penny in the hallway. Just because she got a emotionless face doesn't mean she has no feelings, especially for that disgusted "ugh" (Since you watched "The Matchmaker", you would know Carrie does get mad when Gumball mistook Darwin's crush as Teri, leaving her effort to be his matchmaker a joke)

No wonder why Darwin overreacted that

I think that's the whole point of that scene since it's really hilarious if you think that way

Well, given how badly written this episode is, at least it isn't as bad compared to The Distance and The Butts.

@Admiral Yuvan Yeah, the Butts was pretty weird towards the end. The distance was pretty funny though ngl.

@LEFTE-BEHIND 2 , The Butts has a good moral tho about not being ashamed of your appearance regardless of what others think, but despite the moral, the episode's execution is just wrong.

As for the Distance, it was just plain weird and discomforting to watch Gumball and Darwin being obsessed with each other, especially of how they were sharing their food.
