I want to ask what is the success of this cartoon series? It looks like a regular comedy cartoon series, with jokes and references to different media.

Its satire, its mixed animation, its sitcom style...

Interesting. I can also add that the characters behave like unsympathetic maniacs or villains, for the sake of laughter. But overall, I haven’t watched this animated series, so it’s interesting to learn at least something about it.

Buddy, the show is a sitcom/comedy. Characters in that genre do many questionable or dumb things no one in real life would actually do, that's why it's funny. Plus, coupled with gumball wacky cast of characters, as well as so many different animation mediums, of course there's shenaningans happening all the time. The characters are not all villainous, sometimes the main characters do bad things but overall their still good guys for the most part.

There were so many funny jokes, and jabs at the real world I had missed when I was watching, as a child… so that’s why I came back!

I would call Darwin and Anais good, but as for the rest of the Wattersons, it is somehow debatable. I've watched some episodes. These are "The Responsible", the end of "The Finale", "The Kids", "The Night", "The Factory", but unfortunately, or fortunately, I didn't find anything funny in them. If you’re looking for some comedy, I reccommend episodes like “The Best”, “The Sweaters”, “The Slap”, and “The Sale”. If it’s still not of your taste, then that’s fine :)
